More Information

Situated in Northern Thailand are several remaining hill tribes. They live their life based on subsistence farming and rearing their own live stock. Life is basic and hard for the tribes people and the money from your experience goes directly to the villagers to support their education, facilities and well being.

You will trek through lush countrside with some great views for approximately 3-5 hours on both days. At certain times of the year it can be very hot and tiring. There are shorter routes if it becomes too much and the guide is happy to work with you to make it as enjoyable as possible. You will spend time in two traditional hill tribe villages, mix with the locals, eat some amazing food and take part in a traditional Lahu tribe dance.

You will be reminded just how simple life can be and yet the tribes folk are incredibly happy individuals working in harmony with the local environment.

This is an unforgettable experience.

A word of caution. They are called 'hill' tribes because it is hilly. At times it is quite steep and hazardous underfoot.

Testimonials

  • This is as real as it gets. No electricity, the shower is a bucket, the food was superb and one one occasion we ate what we collected from the forest and fields during the day cooked in a banana leaf. Would do it again. Susanna G

  • The guide gave me a machete to start with!! I was puzzled until later when I made my own cooking equipment, pots, plates and cutlery from bamboo!!! I then cooked the food on an open fire over looking the valley. Awesome Oliver W
